My fun-fest started with a romantic anniversary date with my surrogate fill-in husband Tara :) I was tired of sitting at home stewing on my wedding anniversary year after year because Justin is away with the military. So I asked my good friend Tara to be my dinner date with me and the kids at a local, make that only real restaurant in Roosevelt :) She didn't disappoint. She was a great listener, communicated with me and had a great time. LOL, I know that probably sounds weird, but to be honest it was just a fun excuse for us to go to dinner and have fun!
Next up on my quest to get a mommy break, was our monthly scrapbook club last night. Tara's mother-in-law and awesome friend of ours Karon, came over and watched the kids for me so I could de-stress and enjoy myself. It was awesome! I even came home and Anders was happy (he's usually crying until mommy comes home).
Since moving here I've been missing family a lot. I heard that my older sister was going to be in Provo visiting her mom here from Thailand and we wanted to meet up. As if that wasn't cool enough to see my sister and my dad's ex (she's SO sweet!) but I was finally able to meet my brother! Talk about emotions. All I can say is, I feel like I'm home when I'm around my brother Patrick and my sister Pawranee. We had the best time today! We all met up for lunch and then headed over to a water park afterwords with the kids. In CA, you wouldn't be able to take your child that can't swim on your lap down a tall, fast scary waterslide. Well, in Utah, not a problem! HAHA. My brother took Emma, I took Anders and my sister took her little guy Ethan right down those slides. Holy cow were they fast! I can't tell you how many times I almost ate it going down that waterslide and I only rode it once! My brother, sister and I aren't the tallest people (surprised right?) and when we shot out, we all went under with all our kids :) The kids were fine, and we all laughed about it afterwards. But MAN! Imagine taking your 1 year old down one of the taller slides at Raging Waters. You wouldn't right? It was super fun though :)
What a blessing the last 24 hours has been for me at just the right times! I am so looking forward to making many more fun memories with Pat! Here are some photos of our happy bunch :)
