After letting Emma and Anders play in the snow filled playgrounds and walk through the main street (this place also houses the Sundance Film Festival in the Winter) I had asked one of the locals if they knew where the 2012 HGTV Dream Home was. Come to find out it's actually not in Park City, but about 20 minutes East in a town called Heber. It's one of the last "big" towns for over a 100 miles until you reach our city, Roosevelt. Even though Justin's not a big HGTV fan, he humored me and the kids napped all the way to Heber. We drove up to this beautiful house with parked cars and a security guard. So I asked the guard if this was the right house, and told me that today was the last day for a guided tour of the house for a small donation to the Make-a-Wish Foundation. In a couple weeks they are announcing the winner for the house, and to my surprise, Justin said he had entered us in back before we left California :) What a keeper I have! So I grabbed Anders, and left Emma napping in the car with Justin. An hour later, I couldn't believe how cool it was to be there! I was just hoping to take a picture of the outside, but to go inside and see all of the designs from my favorite HGTV designers was even cooler. I'm sure I've lost all credibility at this point for writing an entire post about this house, but I'm a HUGE fan, so it was pretty cool. Not to mention all of the tour guides from HGTV were also Make-a-Wish Foundation parents, so their kids at some point were recipients. Such a cool thing to do with a big house with no one living in it yet. Here are a few pictures of the house:
Me with Anders in the Front :)
The Master Bath, love this tub!
One of the guest bedrooms, patriotic no? I think I want to mock this in our room!
A small Play area for kids off of the family room. You can see the small door on the right in the picture below. It's 5'4" tall and I'm 5'0" I was the only tour guest that didn't have to duck :)
I hope you enjoyed my tour of the 2012 Dream Home in beautiful Utah :)
